Here are the UIL numbers from 1976 to present. Every 2 years UIL
reclassifies. And from past history, they usually raise the numbers at
each reclassification (on occasion, they went down).
In 1976-78, a 4A school was 1220 and up. In 2003, it is 900-1909, and over 1910 is 5A. The 5A classification was added in 1980.
In February, 2004, UIL decided NOT to add a 6A classification. Instead, they increased the enrollment parameters. Now, a 4A high school, which is what LCISD has, can have 900-1924 students. 1925 and over is considered a 5A school.
